The best part about receiving presents…. is sharing them!
With the help of Oprah Winfrey and Bing, we were able to support our local schools. Not many of
us knew about DonorsChoose.org, but we’ve now learned that it’s a wonderful website where teachers can register a wish list of items needed for their classrooms, school projects and activities.
As always, we decided the power of many is better than the power of one. After some research, we collaborated with our Donors Choose gift cards and selected two Seminole County schools to support: Altamonte Elementary School with their “Get Fit at AES” project to promote healthy lifestyle and fun fitness for their kids and Wekiva Elementary School with “Wekiva Readers are Leaders!” project for Accelerated Reader books.
We believe that kids are our future, so by investing in our kids, we are investing in our future!
The students of Altamonte Elementary School were thrilled to receive their wish list items!
Both teachers expressed their gratitude for us helping fulfill with their wish list items. See copies of the thank-you letters below.
I can’t fully express my joy, excitement, and thanks for your donation to my project. It is great to see that you share my vision for reaching children. It is always with great pleasure that we are able to match our struggling lowest readers with high-interest books at their reading level. Students at our school will be thrilled with these new books! Also included in our selections were copies of the current year Sunshine State Award books. It will be wonderful to direct our higher readers to these well-read and loved titles, even after their “year in the spotlight”. Thanks so much from the bottom of my heart! Your generous donations will really make a difference in the lives of children of all ages, for many years to come!
Thank you!!!!
With gratitude,
Mrs. C.
Thank you so much for donating to our project! The students used the new parachute and could not believe their eyes when they saw a shiny, brand new, colorful parachute. They were so used to a dirty, ripped one. I know they feel valued when they are trusted with new equipment. The students had such fun using the new parachute.
Thank you for the Fun-Net. The students love soccer and talking about the World Cup. They were so excited to play soccer with a brand new soccer goal/net. They were used to using cones, so this was the first time they got to use a real soccer goal/net.
With gratitude,
Mrs. D.
