A donation of $65.00 was made to the National Fibromyalgia Association. The donation provided 30 information packets to people without internet access. The organization’s goal is to educate, encourage and empower people with FM and also society since FM is one of the most common chronic pain conditions. The disorder affects an estimated 10 million people in the U.S. and an estimated 3-6% of the world population.
Fibromyalgia is characterized by chronic widespread pain, multiple tender points, abnormal pain processing, sleep disturbances, fatigue and often psychological distress. For those with severe symptoms, fibromyalgia can be extremely debilitating and interfere with basic daily activities.
