CTG Hosts Second Annual Fundraiser at Ten Thousand Villages

    Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

The ladies of Change Through Giving held their second annual fundraising event with fair trade organization, Ten Thousand Villages. The after-hours shopping event was held at the Ten Thousand Villages store on Park Avenue in Winter Park on November 5th. Guests enjoyed cheese and wine while shopping collectables and crafts from all over the world. All items available at Ten Thousand Villages are purchased from artisans around the globe at fare trade prices. In addition to supporting fair trade practices, a portion of the evenings proceeds benefited Florida’s Vision Quest, a not-for-profit (501c3) public children’s charity that permanently impacts children’s lives by providing free children’s eye exams and quality new eyeglasses for Florida’s most vulnerable children who can’t see clearly enough to read and can’t afford suitable eye care. It was a great fundraiser for the ladies of Change Through Giving, and an excellent way for guests to start their holiday shopping, all while supporting two great causes!

    Festival of Trees Wreath donation

    Sunday, November 15th, 2009

A favorite Orlando Holiday events each November is the Festival of Trees.  The festivities include holiday items created and sold as a fundraiser for the Orlando Museum of Art.  This year Lou Reynolds and Connie McCahan put their talents to work and created a wreath and donated it to support this cause.  Numerous Orlando businesses and charity groups pull their talents and resources together and create a holiday wonderland.  If you never have attended plan to do so next year.  For more information check out this website and browse other events like First Thursdays http://www.omart.org/programs/festival-trees
