Safehouse of Seminole makes a difference in the lives of women and children who are survivors of domestic violence. Their mission touched the hearts of our volunteers, and by pulling funds, creative juices and supporters, we provided a fun and festive Halloween celebration at their residence. Pizza was donated by Michael Williams Salon in Oviedo, baked goods were homemade by Lou Reynolds, and each member of our team played games that members created to fit the Halloween season. “TooT” the clown volunteered and made balloons that put smiles on everyone’s faces.
Safehouse of Seminole provides emergency shelter for domestic violence victims. They also provide counseling, support groups, case management, safety planning, emergency clothing and food, referrals to community resources, children’s services, court advocacy, safekid program and much more. Last year, Safehouse reached more than 40,000 people in the Seminole County community.
