After a neighbor of a CTG member requested friends and families to donate to Smile Train CTG did some research and decided to adopt SmileTrain as our March 2009 Change Project. This organization, through donations provides life changing free cleft surgery which takes as little as 45 minutes and costs as little as $250.00. Knowing that one operation can not only change a child’s smile but their life, made CTG members smile by pulling their resources to purchase a surgery for one child. The NY Times says SmileTrain is “one of the most productive charities dollar for deed in the world”.
Did you know that according to the U.S. Government, women who plan to have a child should be sure to take sufficient levels of folic acid (400 milligrams per day) during pregnancy to help prevent neural tube defects and reduce the risk for cleft palate?
